§ I — On the Practice
I am Ananya A Workineh. I write software for a living, play music because I have to, train because my body asks for it, and shoot film because I like looking at the world that way. I started Bernos Technologies to build Ethiopic-first software and AI, and I have spent the last ten years quietly sharpening the tools and the way I think about them.
Competing locally, nationally and internationally taught me how to ship when the clock is loud. Music, martial arts and film taught me the opposite lesson: that the real work is a long, quiet conversation you keep having with the craft.
§ II — Disciplines
Founder and CEO of Bernos Technologies (bernos.et). Ten years writing software, starting with C++ and Python back in 2015, picking up C# and Rust along the way, and using whatever else a senior engineer needs to ship the job. TensorFlow since 2018, PyTorch since 2020, and a handful of the earliest Ethiopic AI models built inside Ethiopia.
Piano, saxophone and bass guitar, plus the washint and the kirar. A little classical, a little jazz, a lot of Ethiopian.
First Dan in ITF Taekwondo, amateur boxer, and an intermediate Muay Thai athlete. The body learns the same way code does: slowly, and with a lot of repetition.
Behind the lens and sometimes in front of it. Shooting, acting, and helping shape films from the first page of the script through the final cut.
